Leicester Comedy Festival: Comedy Countdown

The Leicester Comedy Festival starts this Friday (5th) and 69 towers is currently buzzing about which shows we are going to see. So being the helpful souls that we are, we have put our heads together and come up with the shows to be most excited about which we will tell you daily here at sixtyninemagazine.co.uk.
Our first comedy top tip is go see something at the Five Pound Fringe. Setting up shop in the Bowies Bar and May Room at the Belmont Hotel, (as well as special shows at Level 1 at DMU, Firebug and The Crumblin’ Cookie) the Five Pound Fringe promises ‘Every Ticket, Every Show, Five Pounds’. They have some brilliant shows on offer. My personal favourite is Comedy Countdown, which pretty much does as it says on the tin. Featuring Paul Sinah in the role of Carol, Dan Atkinson as Des, James Sherwood in dictionary corner and Leicester’s own funny person David Morgan as the clock. I promise you this is an hour (and £5) well spent.
You will find comedy countdown at Level 1 in DMU on Wednesday 17th February at 9 you can book tickets by clicking here and you can see the full lineup from the Five Pound Fringe by clicking here.
About the Author: David is the New Media Manager and Culture Editor at 69 Towers. Easily distracted by shiny things David keeps himself busy by staring at a variety of screens. Musical tastes includes anything that has a woman singing over some kind of 80's inspired elctro beat and men who sound like women singing over an 80's elctro beat. The current thing that makes me sad is that the 90's is now retro. Currently on the hunt for shoes that look good with a pair of brown bootcut trousers.
