Preview: Traces

If you enjoyed Curve’s Lift Off performance then you’ll surely love next week’s production – Traces. The multi-talented five-star cast will dazzle you with their contemporary acrobat and circus tricks as they attempt to twine a storyline into their off-the-wall style performance.

Les 7 Doigts de la Main (The 7 Fingers) company will be stopping off in Leicester on Monday, February 22 till Wednesday 24 to display their gravity-defying act at the cities £61.5million theatre.

Traces is more than just a series of tricks. Set in a makeshift bunker, five characters hide from an impending disaster outside the door. The cast use every mode of expression available to them, hoping to put down a last mark and leave their traces before they meet their end.Video, narration and music combine to show snippets of the performers’ real lives, gradually drawing the audience into their stories.

The music jumps from rock, hip hop to 1940s jazz whilst the audience watch in awe.

Despite using chairs, basketballs and skateboards as some of their props, the element of magic and amazement stays at the heart of this performance.

All the way through, the cast, which includes Antoine Auger, Jonathan Casaubon, Antoine Carabinier Lepine, Genevieve Morin and Philip Rosenberg, manage to make the audience laugh one minute and look completely stunned the next.

Without a doubt, the second half of the hour and 20 minute show is definitely the most intense and keeps the audience hooked until the explosive ending.

See this touring French company fill the stage on their three-night stop off in Leicester next week.

The production will be at Curve from Monday, February 22 till Wednesday 24, with performances at 7.30pm. Tickets cost from £22.50-£26.50.For more information or to book tickets phone 0116 2423595 or visit www.curveonline.co.uk
